The attached IBC update communication provides an overview as to where the IBC was positioned in March 1984, before the first UCITS directive phenomenon and the ensuing development of Luxembourg as a leading global fund industry.

The conclusion of the letter still reflects the importance of the IBC today:

“In this important financial environment, the International Bankers Club has become the centre of contact for the Luxembourg financial community”

The IBC in the 21st century

The IBC, now established over 48 years ago, initially served under the ABBL (The Luxembourg Bankers‘ Association, established in 1939), to bring together the management of Banks and Financial Institutions established in Luxembourg, to foster and develop a platform for dialog between their key executives.

The IBC branched out of the ABBL in 2016 to serve alongside the ABBL, on its own, as a distinct community, moving onwards and upwards with an evolving membership since.

The IBC regularly organises meetings, events and get-togethers on professional, cultural and social subjects, year on year on, having built yearly traditional events programme over the years.

Our members are all senior professionals, who hold or have held senior executive positions (at least C- level) in Luxembourg within institutions of the Financial Industry.
